Beginning this week, Walmart will be offering the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C contract free on Straight Talk and NET10 Wireless. Both carriers offer unlimited talk, text and data for less than the other major carriers. It will cost you upwards of $649 for the 16GB iPhone 5S and $549 for the iPhone 5C 16GB.
Both Straight Talk and NET10 are brother and sister company of TracFone Wireless, claiming to be the country’s largest no-contract cellular service provider with 23 million users around the nation. Straight Talk offers a unlimited plan for $45 per month, while $60 per month gets you unlimited nationwide talk. On the other NET10 offers a family plan starting at $50 per month with $40 for each added line and $65 per month for unlimited international calling. Paying upfront for a phone can seem expensive at the time, but in the long run you’ll be saving money on monthly cost.
